Flash Communication Server 2 = Flash Media Server 2

Macromedia has announced the FlashComm 2 and changed it name to Flash Media Server 2. FMS 2 new features:

  • High Quality Video
  • Automatic Player Detection
  • Quality of Service Monitoring
  • Authentication
  • Encrypted Delivery
  • Origin and Edge Servers
  • Multiple Processes
  • Backend System Integration
  • Logging, more
FMS 2 price start at $4,500 for for a two-CPU configuration Professional Edition license. Expected to ship in October, Flash Media Server 2 is the next generation of Macromedia Flash Communication Server. The Flash Media Server 2 public beta will be available in September.
